Cardcaptor Sakura was one of the earliest anime I ever watched, and it was certainly my first introduction to the magical girl genre. I’ve wanted to make one of her costumes for a long time, and finally with the help of the internet settled on this one.
I always loved that canonically her costumes we’re part of some sort of magical transformation, but rather because her best friend made them for her. As a seamstress this spoke to me!

The particular outfit I chose was from episode 2, and her capture of the Shadow card, it was also the first costume her friend made for her, which seemed like a good one to pick. Plus it has a super sweet cape!
