Khloe was made for Fan Fest in 2023, I was really excited by creating something interactive and really enjoy the ‘play’ aspect of cosplay. For this build I also challenged myself to thrift materials where possible, purchase from local fabric stores, or use my existing stash. I wanted to keep the build simpler, especially after finishing up the very involved Elphaba build and prepping to make our wedding outfits for later that year.

If you want any of the embroidery files or 3D print files you can grab them here:
I made a few different file types for the embroidery files but feel free to send me a message if you are looking for a different one.
Shirt
The base shirt was made from a white cotton sheet I thirfted – it had a slight sheen and a nice dense weave so it worked well as a shirting fabric. I imitated the lines on the shirt with seams and top-stitching, I like that it added dimension to the simplicity. The construction is largely a boxy shape, with some shaping on the side seams and the back princess seams, as well as bust darts in the front (no seams on the front due to it being a wrap front). Because of how deep the opening in the front was I made it a fake wrap front and am able to slip it on over my head. The inside (part that folds over) on the collar is done using a white on white brocade, which I also thrifted, to emulate the floral texture in the game.

The black undershirt is a Thompson Tee with armpit sweat absorbing patches which I SUPER suggest for any cosplay, saves me from sweating through and stinking up many an outfit. The side flaps were made of some red jersey from my stash, and the pockets are technically functional – even if I never had a use for them. The green “overalls” are much like the shirt also a fake overlap with seams and top-stitching to emulate the style lines in game.. The material was juuuuuust enough from a cotton pillow case I thrifted.
All the leather strapping was made from stash pleather – actually the same pleather used for my Evie Frye boot covers (yes it has been in my stash for almost 10 years). I did an inner layer of felt to add structure and stability and then wrapped pleather around it and top-stitched the edges to keep it in place (as well as a little glue). The buckles were 3D modeled, printed and then painted with acrylic, though the little tab bit of the buckles I made out of 12G wire. The embroidery and print files are available here.
Bandana
The yellow bandana was a Kona cotton that I purchased from a local sewing store. Like the shirt it also slips over me head rather than tying it each time to the knot is stitched in place for aesthetic. it snaps to the back to the collar to make sure it doesn’t slip around. The green leaves were made from green jersey from my stash, which I embroidered the stem patterns on to and then painted the edges with acrylic to add dimension. In game they don’t look super naturalistic in texture so I decided to go for more aesthetic match than trying to make them actual leaves. The “vines” was cording painted green with acrylic to match the leaves. The berries were made of balls of scrap worbla painted with acrylic. The leaves and berries were sewn directly on to the bandana.
Bloomers & Sash
The bloomers were made of a thick jersey cotton I purchased. I wanted them to be extra comfy to wear and move in, and a stretch material was going to do that better than a woven would. I also didn’t want the fabric to be exactly the same as the fabric for the shirt so this seemed like a subtle but visible contrast. They pull on with an elastic waist band, and are generally just a roomy and boxy pair of shorts. The bows were made using the classic “fake bow” methods, where it’s all done in parts and then sewn together rather than as actual bow with a know. This preserves the overall look and structure much better.
The sash was constructed as a single piece to keep everything together while I was wearing it. The under fabric is the same white floral used on the collar, because I didn’t have a lot of that fabric I pieced it as a trim onto more of the white shirting fabric as not all of it could seen. The top layer of orange was a purchased yarn dyed linen with orange in one direction and green in the other. I loved how this fabric looked, it was way more textured and interesting than just a flat orange fabric.
All of these pieces were roughly triangular and sewn on to a strapping belt. The top edges of the fabric fold over to hide the strap, and a few extra snaps keep the corners in place.
Bits & Bobs
I purchased a custom tail and ears from Zullala on Etsy, they don’t currently have them listed but I am sure you could contact with a request. I loved that they made the ears a little extra big to match how Miqo’te children’s look a little larger proportional. The tail was also made a little smaller that a typical adult tail but larger than the nubbin they normally had (which felt a little but weird). The tail sits on a strap that buckles under the sash and pokes through a hole in the sash.
The ears magnet to a headband under my wig with a bit of wire that runs under my wig hair to help stabilize them so they don’t fall or flop. The wig was tricky to color match to the ears, I ended up with the Selene in Strawberry Blonde from Epic cosplay. I trimmed it a little bit, mostly in the front and bangs, and did some crimping to add volume. The little bells are in fact, small bells from my stash so I do actually jingle if I shake my head.
The necklace was molded out of sculpy (originally I thought I might not need to paint it, but…. that didn’t work out). With the silver portions made out of worbla and all of it painted with acrylics. I used to braided leather strapping and some knots and rings on the underside to make it slide larger and smaller to slip over my head. The toggles on the end were also worbla and molded directly on to the cord.
